What better time than World Hypertension Day is there to take a look at the tech that can help you monitor your health including the Withings BPM (Blood Pressure Monitor) Connect and the Withings Body Cardio Scales.
Hypertension is also more commonly known as high blood pressure and, if untreated, can cause strokes and heart disease.
There are more than 1.2 million Australians aged 18 and over with a condition related to heart or vascular disease – that’s 5.6 per cent of the population according to the Australian Institute of Health Welfare.
More than a billion people around the world are currently living with hypertension.
Withings has a number of products that can help people can an eye on their condition and monitor their general health and wellbeing.
Withings were also the first company to release a watch with a built in ECG – the Withings ScanWatch.
But for customers suffering from hypertension, Withings have two products that can help – the Withings BPM and the Withings Body Cardio Scales.
WITHINGS BPM – $179
This is a quick and easy way to check your blood pressure. It is a flexible cuff you wear on your upper arm and it’s small enough to take anywhere with you.
The device has been developed with the help of cardiologists and offers best-in-class accuracy.
BPM Connect offers medically accurate performance of your systolic and diastolic blood pressure and your heart rate. Users see the readings on the device’s display.
It pairs via Bluetooth with the Withings app so you can also view your results and keep a record of all your readings.
BPM Connect can also connect with Apple Health to import or export your blood pressure data.
WITHINGS BODY CARDIO SCALES – $249
There are scales that can just tell you your weight but the Body Cardio Scales can do a lot more including providing a cardiovascular check-up in just 30 seconds.
The device can pair to the Withings Health Mate app and can track your weight, body fat and water percentage, muscle mass and bone mass along with your BMI (body mass index) and standing heart rate.
There is also a new Vascular Age feature which offers an insight into the “age” of your arteries.
All of this information is collected through the sensors on the scale using highly accurate patented Position Control Technology.
And for women, there is a pregnancy tracker which offers tailored information.
When your child is born there is even baby mode which can recognise and track your child’s growth.
The Withings BPM and Withings Body Cardio Scales are both available from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Amazon.
