Bang & Olufsen is a name synonymous with two things – exceptional design and excellent audio quality and that’s exactly what you get with the company’s latest product – the BeoPlay A1.
The A1 is the smallest speaker in the BeoPlay family and has a 24-hour battery life plus a built-in speakerphone for hands-free calls.
BeoPlay A1 Bluetooth speaker measures just 13.3cm across, 4.8cm thick and weighs just 600g.
It has an impressive Danish design with a contoured aluminium dome which is light yet sturdy.
It also has a soft leather strap to make it easy to carry with you everywhere with you either in your hand or strapped to a backpack.
It has a polymer base with no protruding buttons – just touch controls – so it continues the smooth look and feel of the speakers.
Under the hood, the BeoPlay A1 has a two-way aluminium cone woofer with a powerful neodymium magnetic system, a silk dome three-quarter inch tweeter and high peak power amps to deliver crisp clear sound and a full range of deep bass that can go as low as 40hz.
It also uses a dedicated DSP (digital sound processor) algorithm with advanced high slope filtering that creates the spacious room-filling 360-degree sound that sound good wherever it is in the room.
As a speakerphone, the BeoPlay A1 also takes advantage of the 360-degree sound so it’s easy to hear and be heard no matter where people are sitting around the device.
To top off the package, there’s the 2200mAh battery that can power the BeoPlay A1 for up to 24 hours on a single charge thanks to the onboard adaptive power management.
The BeoPlay A1 is available in two colours – Moss Green and Natural – is available from Bang & Olufsen stores, Myer, JR Duty Free and independent retailer from May.
It is priced at $379.
