Apple launches new iPad at an even more affordable price

Apple has updated the 9.7-inch iPad – its most popular sized iPad – to take the place of the iPad Air in the company’s popular product range and at its most affordable price ever.

The new 9.7-inch iPad is available to order from this Saturday, March 25 and is powered by Apple’s 64-bit A9 chip to deliver laptop-like performance for fast processing and smoother graphics.

The iPad has a brighter Retina display with more than 3.1 million pixels and it’s housed in a chassis that’s just 7.5mm thick and weighs in at 469g.

The device has an 8-megapixel rear camera that’s capable of shooting 1080p full high definition video and a 1.2-megapixel front FaceTime camera.

There is a wi-fi version as well as 4G LTE models to connect anywhere.

Users can also secure the device with the Touch ID in the home button as well as authorise payments and app downloads with your fingerprint.

Battery life has been pegged at 10 hours – and that’s even when watching back top back videos.

The iPad is also running Apple’s latest iOS 10 operating system with more than 1.3 million apps specifically designed for the device.

iPad can be used to run apps, play games, watch movies, read book and to stay productive on the move.

Apple’s new iPad comes in silver, gold and space grey and starts at $469 for the 32GB wi-fi model. The 128GB wi-fi model is priced at $599.

The iPad 4G LTE models are priced at $669 (32GB) and $799 (128GB).
