Apple has introduced a bold new model of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – the (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition – which allows anyone who purchases it to contribute to the Global Fund to combat AIDS.
Apple has enjoyed a 10-year partnership with (RED) and the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the latest products to be offered in this distinct red colour.
Apart from the new red colour, these new iPhones are identical to the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models in terms of specs, size and camera quality.
These new (PRODUCT)RED iPhones go on sale worldwide on Saturday, March 25.
“Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s line-up of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.
“The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.”
(RED)’s work has provided access to life-saving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa where two-thirds of the world’s HIV-positive population lives.
Since 2006, (RED) has raised more than $465 million for the Global Fund with more than $180 million from Apple alone.

The (PRODUCT)RED iPhones are priced $1,229 (iPhone 7, 128GB), $1,379 (iPhone 7, 256GB), $1,419 (iPhone 7 Plus, 128GB) and $1,569 (iPhone 7 Plus, 256GB).
