Sony introduces Xperia T2 Ultra 6-inch dual SIM smartphone

xperiat2ultra2Sony has released the Xperia T2 Ultra – a new dual sim smartphone with a 6-inch display that includes the same Triluminos technology you’d find on Sony’s TVs.

Positioned as a real entertainment device, the large screen aboard the Xperia T2 Ultra provides a great way to watch movies and listen to music on the go.

The 4G Android device includes a 13-megapixel camera, a 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera and a Snapdragon quad core 1.4Ghz processor.

There is 1GB RAM and 8GB of built-in memory with a microSD card slot to expand that by a further 32GB.

And the good news for customers is that it is being offered at a reasonable mid-range price of $549.

Despite having a large 6-inch screen, the Xperia T2 Ultra seems to be not much larger than a regular phone because screen goes to within 2.5mm of the edge of the device.

This means the screen to phone size ratio is 73.6 per cent and makes the most of the available space.

The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is just 7.6mm thick and about the width of a standard credit card while weighing in at lightweight 176g.

The onboard 13-megapixel camera can capture high quality images and includes features and filters to make your photography even more fun.

There is Collage to include two or more pictures in the same image, Background Defocus to create impressive images full of depth, Timeburst shift that can take 31 images in two seconds and sweep panorama to create the ultimate wide shots.

Users also have access to a wealth of Sony content right from the device through the Album, Walkman and Movie apps that will connect to Sony cloud services for truly on-demand entertainment.

You can also run two SIM cards from the Sony T2 Ultra dual with each able to be set up independently with their own ringtones and one-touch switching between numbers.

This feature is ideal for customers to want to manage a work line and a private number or someone travelling overseas with their Australian SIM and their overseas SIM card in the same device rather than carrying around two phones.

The Sony T2 Ultra is available now for $549 and includes a BlueAnt Endure Bluetooth headset valued at $79 at no extra cost.

Customers can purchase the device outright from Sony Centres, The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi and Allphones stores.
