Samsung teases new products ahead of IFA consumer tech tradeshow
Samsung will use IFA – the huge consumer electronics tradeshow in Berlin – to unveil the new Galaxy Note smartphone and a Windows 8 tablet/laptop hybrid device.
The company has released teaser pictures and a video of these rumoured products ahead of IFA which kicks off later this week.
Tech Guide will be in Berlin for all the announcements and to get hands-on with all of the new products that will be unveiled at the famous tradeshow.
Samsung has already sent out the invitations for its Mobile Unpacked event to take place in Berlin on the eve of IFA with the Galaxy Note 2 anticipated to be the star of the show.
The new Galaxy Note 2 is expected to have an even bigger screen – 5.5-inch up from 5.3-inch – a Super AMOLED screen, quad core 1.4Ghz processor and Google’s new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
The original Galaxy Note – which gets its name from the ability to write on the screen with a stylus – was unveiled at the same event last year.
Samsung actually released a teaser video last week featuring film director Wim Wenders that offered a glimpse of the device’s screen and the new stylus.
Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked may also see the introduction of a new range of Galaxy Tab products running Android as well.
Another product expected to make an appearance is a Windows 8 tablet which will be able to connect with a keyboard dock.
It is expected to have an 11-inch screen and feature the highly-anticipated touchscreen-friendly Windows 8 operating system.
And the device will reportedly attach securely to a keyboard dock magnetically.
IFA – Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (International Radio Exhibition Berlin also known as the Berlin Radio Show) was first held in 1924 and is today one of the leading consumer electronics and home appliance shows in the world.
One famous IFA attendee was Albert Einstein who opened the show back in 1930.
