Keep devices charged with Mophie to meet US airport security upgrade
It pays to keep your device charged following new airport security guidelines introduced in the US that won’t allow flat smartphones and tablets on to flights.
New screening requirements means passengers must power their devices on before they can be carried on to the aircraft.
This comes after US government warnings of an Al-Qaeda effort to create a bomb that could be smuggled through airport security inside a smartphone.
So being able to keep your device charged up on the move is important especially for frequent travellers.
And there are a number of products that can help you do that.
Mophie has a number of solutions that can provide a charge for your device.
One of the most popular among iPhone users is the Mophie Juice Pack Air ($109.95) that looks like a case but with a 1,700mAh rechargeable battery on board to completely recharge the device.
When the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S is inserted into the Mophie Juice Pack it can recharge the device’s battery back up to 100 per cent.
There are four indicator lights on the back of the case and a switch so you can control when the case is charging the iPhone.
It’s available in black, white, gold and red.
Mophie also has a Juice Pack for the Samsung Galaxy S4 ($109.95) that can recharge the device to 80 per cent capacity. Available colours are black, red, white and pink.
Apart from the cases designed for specific smartphones, Mophie also has other universal charging solutions.
The Mophie Power Reserve Lightning ($59.95) is small enough to fit on a keyring and has 1,300mAh battery onboard to recharge your iPhone to 60 per cent.
It has a hidden Lightning cable that unfolds to connect to and charge your iPhone 5, 5C and 5S whenever you need it. Colours to choose from include black, red and white.
The Mophie Power Reserve Micro ($59.95) has an integrated microUSB cable to power up Android devices up to 60 per cent through its built-in 1,300mAh battery. It is also available in black, red and white.
And you want a serious charging solution that works for all products, there’s the Mophie Universal Powerstation 4000 ($89.95) that can charge smartphones and tablets on the move.
Users simply connect their cable to one of the USB ports on the Powerstation 4000 to recharge their device.
The colour choices are black, white, red, pink, blue, green, orange or purple.
