Aldi launches new Value Pack mobile phone plans
Aldi has introduced new value packs to offer mobile phone users an even easier way to find a plan that suits their needs and their budgets.
To help customers make the right choice Aldi has also launched a new online tool at www.aldimobile.com.au.
It allows customers to enter their current mobile usage data to suggest the plan that will meet their needs.
The Aldi Mobile Value Packs start at $10 a month and go all the way up to $35.
The Value Packs are arranged from small ($10 per month) and medium ($20) to large ($30) and extra large ($35).
The $10 Value Pack offers up to 100 minutes of calls or SMS with 100MB of data available for an extra $5.
Moving up to the $20 option and users receive up to 300 minutes of calls and SMS and 300MB of data.
In the $30 Value Pack is up to 650 minutes of calls, 2200 SMS and 1GB of data.
At the XL Value Pack offers up to 1250 minutes of calls, 2200 SMS and 1GB data with the option of an extra 1GB on the Large and Extra Large plans for an added $10.
These extra data packs can be purchased when the user reaches 70 per cent of their data allowance.
All of the new Aldi Value Packs have a 30-day expiry.
These plans will come onto effect on April 2, 2014 at which time the existing $35 Aldi Mobile plan will no longer be offered.
It should be noted the new $35 Value Pack plan is offering only 1GB if data – less than half of the 2.5GB data offered on the old plan. There are even less call minutes – 1250 on the new plan compared to 2000 on the outgoing $35 plan.
No doubt these customers will be disppointed and will have to look elsewhere for a similar value plan.
The popular $15 and $30 Pay As You Go plans will be unchanged and will still have a 365 day expiry.
Current customers will be able to transfer to the new Aldi Mobile plan of their choice.
Aldi Mobile uses part of the Telstra 3G network which covers 98.7 per cent of the Australian population.
