June – the jewellery that can protect you from the sun
Australians, more than most people in the world, are quite sun conscious and a new device disguised as a piece of jewellery can monitor your exposure.
Unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, June is a product that can be worn as a bracelet or brooch.
There are sensors on board that can detect the current UV level and send alerts to the app on your iPhone.
Users can tailor the app to suit their skin type and sun habits and receive notifications when they need to apply more sunscreen, wear a hat or put on sunglasses.
June has been designed to look like a multifaceted diamond so it can fit in with whatever you’re wearing and not stand out as bulky ugly gadget.
June will be available in three colours – platinum, gold and gunmetal – when it goes on sale in the second half of 2014 for $US99.
