Telstra and Toshiba launch world’s first 4G Windows 8 ultrabook tablet
Telstra and Toshiba have partnered to launch the world’s first 4G Windows 8 ultrabook tablet – the Portege Z10t which can be used as a laptop and a tablet.
The device, which will be available exclusively through Telstra stores for three months from June 11, has a detachable backlit keyboard dock.
Sporting an 11.6-inch colour touchscreen, the Portege Z10t is powered by an Intel Celeron processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD (solid state drive) high-speed storage.
And with built-in 4G connectivity, the Toshiba Portege Z10t is ideal for users on the go who don’t want to juggle multiple devices.
Users can choose to use the product in tablet mode or in laptop mode when the screen is attached to the keyboard dock.
The device is available on a Telstra $90 a month plan ($50 tablet plan and $40 device payment) which comes with 8GB of data to use every month over 24 months for a total cost of $2,160
There is also a version of the Portege Z10t with an Intel i5 processor which may be of interest to high end and business users.
