Sonos introduces new Play:1 wireless speaker
Wireless speaker company Sonos has introduced a new compact and more affordable product to offer a big sound anywhere in your home.
The Sonos Play:1 is a new speaker which is smaller than its Play:3 and Play:5 cousins but still provides similar quality and wireless convenience on your home network.
And it can also be controlled using the Sonos app from your smartphone and tablet and also from your computer.
Play:1 might by small in size but it is big on sound. Built inside its small chassis a speaker driver, mid-woofer and tweeter to deliver impressive audio across the board.
Onboard is smart processing technology to deliver high performance with no distortion.
And, of course, it’s possible to stream your music through the Sonos Play:1 whether it’s your own music from your computer or streaming music services like Pandora, Spotify, Deezer, MOG and Rdio.
Users can integrate Play:1 into an existing Sonos system or set up a wireless system with multiple Play:1 speakers.
It’s also possible to combine two Play:1 units into a stereo pair and, similarly, set up a pair of versatile Play:1 speakers as rear speakers with the Sonos Playbar and SUB to create a 5.1 surround system.
The Play:1 includes a new button control system on top of the device that allows users to play and pause their music or easily skip to the next track.
The new Sonos Play:1 is available today for $299 and, for a limited time, will come with a free Sonos Bridge (valued at $75) – the device which can link the speaker to your wi-fi network.
