samsungwireless1Samsung has extended its already impressive portfolio of products to include new triangular wireless multi-room speakers – the M5 and M7.

The speakers put Samsung up against already established brands including Sonos which has led the way in the wireless speaker market.

But Samsung brings a lot to the table with M5 and M7 and gives customers the chance to create a complete ecosystem that can work with the company’s TVs and soundbars.

The speakers themselves have a triangular design and can be rested either flat or upright. They can also be mounted on the wall.

Under the hood are CNT pulp cone mid-range speakers and silk dome tweeters along with a foam core woofer to deliver high quality output.

The M5 and M7 speakers are also equipped with wi-fi, Bluetooth and NFC (near field communication) and present a number of connectivity options.

They can be controlled by the Wireless Multi Room smartphone app that is available for both Android and iOS. The app will soon be released for tablets and PC and Mac in the coming months.

The speakers can stream music from your mobile device, from other connected devices on your network as well as from streaming music services like Spotify, Rdio, Deezer, Pandora and 8Tracks.

Samsung’s versatile M5 and M7 speakers can also be paired to work with the latest Samsung TVs and Blu-ray Disc players.

Users can also link them to Samsung’s new Series 7 soundbar (HW-H751 $899) and Series 7 home theatre speakers system (HT-H7750 $1,099).

It’s possible to set up the M5 and M7 as rear and side speakers to create a true surround sound experience.

The wireless speakers are available now in either black or white and priced at $399 (M5) and $499 (M7).

Stay tuned to Tech Guide for a full review of the Samsung wireless speakers in the coming weeks.
