BlueAnt is well known for producing Bluetooth products and its latest – the Pump HD Sportsbuds – lets you listen to your music wirelessly in any conditions.
The Pump HD Sportsbuds are wireless earphones that offer impressive audio but built with military grade design to handle rain, sweat and dust.
Designed over three years by Australians for Australian conditions, the BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds are perfect for active people who still demand quality audio wherever they go.
They connect to your device via Bluetooth so there’s no getting tangled up in the cord while your running or working out in the gym.
The left and right earpieces are connected with a single cable and feature an over-the-ear design.
Each looks like an old hearing aid but the bulk of the product is hidden behind your ear with only the slender stem fitting into your ear.
This design means the top of your ears supports the weight of the product.
Other wireless earphones have heavier ear buds and these can only be supported by forcing the buds even further into your ear canal.
In other words the BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds, despite looking bulkier than rival Bluetooth wireless earphones, are actually more comfortable to wear for extended periods.
There is enough flexibility in the design to suit a large number of users but it might prove too much for listeners with smaller ears.
There are also a number of silicon tips and stabilisers to make the fit even more comfortable for different users.
On the outside of the right ear bud is the play and volume controls while the left ear bud is where you’ll find the microUSB port under a watertight flap to charge the product.
On the audio side, the BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds have serious game.
There is a Kevlar and Teflon coating, the same materials used in bulletproof vests – to give the product extra strength and protection.
Below the surface are 12.5mm speaker drivers, powerful neodymium magnets and special cone materials.
These all combine to produce superior audio that surprised us with its quality.
We found plenty of detail in the high and mid levels to appreciate the music we were listening to.
But the real winner here is the bass that really put the cherry on top for an overall satisfying audio experience.
The BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds have IP67 waterproof certification so they can handle rain, water and sweat so is perfect for the gym or running or walking.
Users can’t swim with them because Bluetooth won’t work underwater but they are more than capable of handling a heavy downpour and the sweat from a hard workout.
They are so rugged you can rinse them under a tap to clean them.
Of course, users can make and answer calls on the BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds if they are connected to your smartphone and this offers equally high audio call quality.
BlueAnt has been in the game for sometime making Bluetooth headsets and in-car speakers and we expected nothing less.
If you’re looking for a pair of earphones that can tick the boxes for comfort, wireless use and audio quality, you can find it with the BlueAnt Pump HD Sportsbuds.
