Users can change their network name or the router’s password and even easily update the router’s firmware with a single click if an update is available.

If you have the Netgear Genie app installed on your smartphone or tablet all of these controls are now in the palm of your hand.

Another benefit of the Netgear Genie app is the ability to print from your iPhone or iPad.

Now rather than buying an AirPrint compatible printer, Netgear Genie can now create a bridge across your network so your can print files from the iPhone and iPad like any other computer on the network.

The Netgear Genie app has to be running on your computer to allow iPhone and iPad printing.

The app also lets users control their media on their home network.

Genie can be used as a remote to control playback of your digital content on the DLNA (digital living network alliance) compatible devices that are on your network including smart TVs and computers.

Users can choose the content they want to view and also choose the connected device they want to watch it on.
