LG smart TV owners will notice two new apps on their screen – Binge and Kayo Sports – so they can enjoy some of best movies and TV shows and stream the biggest live sporting events.
From today, LG customers with a compatible TV (2018 models onward) will see the Binge and Kayo Sports apps which are now part of the TV’s webOS platform.
While all the attention of today’s announcement went to Binge, eagle-eyed customers would have also noticed the Kayo Sport app icon was also right there next to the Binge app on their recent model LG TVs.
Kayo Sports and Binge are both part of the Streamotion streaming and technology business which means both apps were developed together to work on LG’s webOS smart TV platform.
Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director of Binge said: “We know people have been asking for it, so I am thrilled that we can now offer LG users the very best of drama, lifestyle, reality, docos and movies that are available on Binge.
“We have seen massive subscriber growth since launching last May, and now with today’s announcement, even more Australians will be able to access the great content we offer.”
Tony Brown, Head of Home Entertainment Marketing at LG Electronics Australia said: “LG TVs are equipped with a range of features that amplify the content viewing experience.
“Joining our suite of existing content streaming apps, the launch of Binge on select LG TV models will give Aussies even more choice when it comes to accessing their favourite movies, TV shows and documentaries.”
Kayo Sports is also now available on LG TVs, but this will not be formally announced by LG and Streamotion until next week.
With Kayo Sports, subscribers can enjoy 50 sports live and on demand including NRL, AFL, cricket. Formula 1, NBA, NFL, tennis, golf and much, much more.
Both Binge and Kayo Sports have them same Nov 25, 2021 release date on the LG Content Store.
Both are available now for LG customers with a 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 LG smart TV.
