Samsung has just released the new R Series wireless speaker range that offers 360-degree sound and top shelf audio quality that was developed at the company’s new Los Angeles audio labs.
The R Series speakers have a tubular design that incorporates Samsung’s ring radiator technology so the sound is sent out in all directions.
And they all have Bluetooth and wi-fi onboard so they can be controlled wirelessly in any room of your home with an app that’s available for iOS and Android devices.
The speakers also have a control interface on the circular top panel to navigate your music with a tap and swipe.
Starting at $299, the Samsung R Series speakers are the one of the first products to come out of the state-of-the-art audio labs in Valencia, Los Angeles.
The research centre is headed by Allan Devantier and includes a team of audio engineers with a combined experience of more than 200 years.
Tech Guide visited the Samsung audio labs earlier this year and inspected the 5,500 square foot facility’s anechoic chambers and testing technology.
By building the Valencia audio labs, Samsung has made a deliberate move to take on the big brands in the high end audio market.
The challenge now is for the company to be recognised as a high-end audio brand after becoming the number one manufacturer in TVs and smartphones.
The R Series speakers is first step down that road.
There are five speakers in the R Series range. They are available now and are priced at:
Samsung R1 speaker – RRP $299.
Samsung R3 speaker – RRP $499.
Samsung R5 speaker – RRP $649.
Samsung R6 Portable speaker – RRP $599.
Samsung R7 speaker – RRP $699.
