Aspera Mobile has expanded its rugged phone range with the new R40 which has a solid durable design with an IP68 rating which means its waterproof and dustproof and ready to go anywhere.
It is reinforced to handle shock, vibration, sand and water and can handle being submerged in a metre of water for up to 30 minutes.
The Aspera R40 is running its own KaiOS but also includes popular apps like Google Maps, Google Assistant, Whatsapp, YouTube and Facebook that have been pre-loaded.
Priced at $129, the Aspera R40 is the latest in the company’s rugged line-up which have been offered since 2014.
Aspera Mobile has since become known for its rugged devices for customer who want to take their smartphone experience anywhere.
It is ideal for those who love the great outdoors and for tradies who need to stay in touch with a device that can handle the work site.
The Aspera R40 offers 4G connectivity and it can also be used as a wi-fi hotspot to share your mobile connection to other devices.
Under the hood is a large 2,500mAh lithium ion battery so you can stay connected longer.
It has a 2.4-inch touchscreen display along with a full numerical keypad and command keys.
The internal memory of the Aspera R40 can also be expanded using a microSD card.
On the camera side, there’s 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone works on all Australian 4G and 3G networks and is not locked to any individual network.
The Aspera R40 is available from Harvey Norman, Big W and Retravision and is priced at $129.
