Huawei has unveiled its latest smartphone – the nova 3i – which packs in numerous top-shelf features in a mid-tier device and comes with free wireless earphones in a special pre-launch offer.

The Huawei nova 3i goes on sale on August 23 for $599 but anyone pre-ordering the device online from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Mobileciti will receive the Huawei Freebuds (valued at $199) as a free bonus.

Huawei recently overtook Apple as the second largest smartphone manufacturer behind Samsung.

The nova 3i has a 6.3-inch FullView display with an all-glass front panel and rounded corners. Design-wise it looks similar to the iPhone X but also had a fingerprint reader on the rear panel. The device also uses facial recognition to unlock the phone.

Anyone who loves to take photos will love the Huawei nova 3i which has four cameras onboard – two at the front and two on the back – which also work with the new AI processor to deliver impressive images.

On the back is a 16-megapixel sensor combined with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for sharper and more natural images.

On the front it gets even better with 24-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras for more high quality selfies and wide-angle shots to fit even more people and a larger background into the picture.

Onboard is 128GB of memory which can be expanded even further with a microSD card.

The Huawei nova 3i can also support two 4G SIM cards for users who have a work and private number which can now be handled with a single device.

This is also a handy feature for travelers so you can have your own SIM in one slot and a local SIM with added data in the other.

On the battery side, the nova 3i will run all day with a 3,340mAh capacity so you can stay productive, listen to your music or watch a movie.

The Huawei Freebuds work with both Android and iOS devices and provide 10 hours of listening on a single charge.

They are rated at IP54 so they can handle water and sweat. They also come with a magnetic charging case.

The Huawei nova 3i will be available in two colours – black and iris purple and will be priced at $599. It will be available from August 23 from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Mobileciti and Bing Lee.

And the Huawei Freebuds are free if you order online before August 23.
