Modern technology gives us many things.

Huawei launches Watch GT3 that can pair with iPhones and Android devices

Huawei has just released its new Watch GT3 – a stylish smartwatch that’s powered by HarmonyOS 2.1 and can be paired with both iPhones and Android smartphones.

The company has also launched Huawei Watch GT Runner which has a high strength polymer fibre body and ceramic ultra-light bezel.

Tech Guide took hands-on look at the Huawei Watch GT3 which is available in 42mm and 46mm sizes.

The Huawei Watch GT3 is just 11mm thick from the bottom of the sensor to the top of the screen and looks slim and sleek on your wrist. It weighs just 46g.

The watch has a rotating crown and offers tactile feedback for notifications and when using the device.

And it’s easy to navigate the GT3’s features with the crown and the button or by swiping the touchscreen.

The launcher on the watch puts all the apps into a chessboard pattern which makes them easy to find and easy to launch.

Through the Huawei Health app – that’s the app you use to pair the device to your iPhone or Android device – you can also choose from a wide range of watch faces which feature all kinds of different complications and designs.

The Watch GT3 screen is bright and sharp and can be set to AODs (always on display) or raise to wake so the screen comes to life when you lift it to glance at the screen.

We found the latter was better on the battery.

Speaking of battery, we were amazed at the battery life we got with the Huawei Watch GT3.

Other smartwatches we’ve used require a recharge every single day – sometimes more.

But the Watch GT3 can run for up to an incredible 14 days.

If you’re using more of the health and wellness features and using sleep tracking, then this comes down to seven days – and even that is impressive.

On the health side, the Watch GT3 has accurate TruSeen 5.0+ heart rate monitoring.
With the addition of the PPG 5.0 module, the watch provides even higher accuracy and can keep up with fast changing heart rate scenarios while you’re exercising.

The Watch GT3 can also monitor your blood oxygen (SpO2), sleep, stress and menstrual cycle to offer a complete picture of your health.

The Huawei Watch GT3 is also an accomplished fitness device with GPS onboard so you can easily track your outdoor location.

There are more than 100 workout modes including 18 professional workout modes, 12 outdoor workouts including running, walking, mountain climbing, hiking, cross country running, cycling, open water swimming, triathlon, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and golf and six indoor workouts including walking, running, cycling, pool swimming, free training, elliptical machine and rowing machine.

The device also becomes your personal trainer with your workout data recorded and analysed depending on your fitness goals.

It’s possible to adjust and increase your training intensity to reach your goal.

Also on board is an AI Running Coach which can create a tailored workout experience.

The Running Ability Index also looks at you’re running heart rate, pace and other data to analyse your performance after each run and provide a better understanding of your training progress.

The Watch GT3 will also give you healthy reminders for daily water intake, mindfulness and sleep.

The Huawei Watch GT Runner includes all the features of the Watch GT3 but offers a breathable, sweat resistant fit add an improved GPS performance to enable things like route sharing and navigation.

The Huawei Watch GT 3 is available now in gold, black, white and brown and is priced at $399 (42mm Black), $499 (42mm Gold), $449 (42mm White), $449 (46mm Black), $499 (46mm Brown).

The Huawei GT Runner 46mm is priced at $599.

They can be purchased from JB Hi-Fi, Amazon, Mobileciti, The Good Guys and the Huawei Experience Store.
