There were plenty of robots at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. But how many of them can make you a really good coffee? ADAM – the robot from Richtech Robotics certainly can.
Tech Guide got up close to ADAM – a dial arm robotic system. Its arms are multi-jointed and can move in all directions to pick and place objects while handling multiple assignments at the same time.
We saw it make a coffee from start to finish – and the coffee was actually pretty good.
Not only that it can also make the precise movements required from a barista to swirl and tap the heated milk, pour the milk and even shake some chocolate powder on top.
It has an Intel AI depth sensor camera so not only is it co-ordinated – it can also judge distances.
It can provide complete and autonomous service for those repetitive tasks – like making coffee.
A robot like this could also be deployed in a fast-food restaurant where the food preparation has been perfected and systemised. ADAM could be even used to flip burgers.
And before people start worrying about robots taking people’s jobs, the people from Richtech Roboticsnaturally say that ADAM can take over the menial and repetitive tasks so the employees can focus on other jobs and providing better customer service.
ADAM’s programmable base can also be used as a bartender to mix and serve cocktails
