AI-Generated Content: What Businesses Need to Check Before Publishing

adminBy adminAugust 19, 2026No Comments7 Mins Read

Despite the ongoing debate about the authenticity and originality of AI-generated content, using AI for business content generation has been a trend for quite some time.

In fact, some of them have been proven to be very impressive and effective for marketing strategies.

A good example of the positive outcome of AI-created content in businesses is Rocky Brands, a footwear company, getting measurable results using AI tools.

After switching to AI tools in SEO content strategy for business content creation, they have experienced a 30% increase in search revenue, while getting 74% year-over-year revenue growth.  So, some of the content is actually working very well.

But according to another report, 49% of U.S. consumers also agreed that the quality of the content produced by GenAI is worse than the original ones.

So, what is the difference between the two of them?

Using AI in business content does not mean totally relying on it, replacing human writers, and publishing it without any supervision. It can assist you in content generation with a strict review system while reducing your time.

Maybe this is the difference between the two cases.

Checklist Before Publishing AI-Generated Content

To succeed with AI-generated content, there are no alternatives or shortcuts to thorough human supervision. You can always use an AI detector, plagiarism checker, and SEO optimization tools to make it easier.

But some focal points you must check manually on your own before sending it to the publication. Here is the checklist for AI-generated content to ensure that it is ready for publication.

Fact-Checking Against The Source

Hallucination is the most underwhelming aspect of AI when it creates content.

Most often, to match the prompt or support the content topic, it provides false information and inaccurate data. Also, AI loves to make up facts and incidents to provide relevant examples.

These fallacies and made-up ideas make the content shallow and ineffective. Moreover, this kind of content never helps you to build long-term trust between you and your readers. As a result, the particular piece of writing by AI does not perform well in SEO and Google’s algorithms.

So, always verify the information and data that you find from an AI writing tool or a content generation platform.

Find out the source of any statistical figures and verify them against the source to ensure the number refers to the same thing as claimed. And check if the source is trustworthy enough to include in your blog.

Instead of using data given by AI tools, take time from your publisher for research and then dig deeper to get concrete and accurate information and facts.

If you can include relevant concrete information, it will support and strengthen your own claims and blog article topic. Also, the readers will find the content useful, which will ultimately benefit businesses in building trust among customers and readers.

Purpose-Driven Content Structure

When you ask AI tools or chatbots to give a structure for a specific topic, it often gives a generic structure that may support any other similar topic.

It may jeopardize the whole content even if you write useful and powerful things under each subheading because many readers will just check out the H2 and H3 and move to another website or article.

Suppose you are to write content, particularly about sports products, titled “How to choose the best equipment for badminton” to promote the sports brand. If you ask ChatGPT to write a structure for the content, it will provide an average outline that can go with any other sport or clothing brand.

Moreover, it will either focus on promoting the specific brand only or emphasize the criteria for the best equipment. It cannot integrate both aspects.

As a result, the blog will fail to effectively promote the brand, which leads the brand nowhere.

So, you must ensure that the content structure given by the AI tools is purpose-driven and serves the objective of the content creation appropriately.

Editing Unnecessary And Lengthy Texts

AI has a tendency to write overly lengthy paragraphs and texts that are not necessary for the topic or do not bring any noticeable difference to the blog.

To be specific, the text does not add to the content. Moreover, they make the whole content shallow and boring.

So, before publishing, you must look for lengthy paragraphs and edit them. You can break the paragraph into shorter ones if all of the text is relevant. But if they are not useful enough, remove them.

Instead of unnecessarily long paragraphs and texts, you can include more insightful texts, real-life examples, or your own interpretations. You can research more and discover alternative explanations or new ideas and include them to fill the gaps.

This way, you will get rid of pointless discussions and improve the content quality as well.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance is the most important part of reviewing AI-generated content. This is something AI will never take care of when generating content. In the content quality check, there are three essential points that you must ensure.

Language And Tone

First of all, the language and tone in AI-generated content are always stilted, stoic, and robotic. Sometimes the content is too grammatically accurate for a human-written one. And there is no natural flow in the whole blog, making it sound monolithic.

In a human-written article, there are supposed to be some oral phrases and sayings. Human writers sometimes avoid textbook grammatical structures. Instead, they use structures that are understandable to the masses.

All these imperfections make the content organic and natural, which are absent in AI writing.

So, whenever you are reviewing an AI-written piece, always fix the language and remove the stoicism from the tone.

Relevence

Secondly, similar to the tone of language, AI content also lacks relevance to the topic sometimes. As AI studies a lot of other articles before writing one, it may sometimes sound like the content is about some other topic.

So, you also need to ensure relevance to the topic while editing the content. Otherwise, the article will become pointless.

Engagement

Since automated content is written by an AI, it will not communicate with a human as it does not think like a human. So, the content lacks engagement with the readers.

Therefore, in AI-generated content, ensuring engagement is essential. Make sure the content keeps the readers hooked. Edit the writing style to bring a conversational flow.

Reading Out Loud

Always give it a final reading before submitting it to the publication. And instead of reading it in your mind, read it out loud enough that it reaches your own ears.

If it sounds natural, relevant, and useful to you, then you have properly edited and improved it. But if any part of the content does not sound coherent and resourceful, you should work on that part.

Also, the final reading helps you find small glitches and silly mistakes in punctuation and overuse of keywords. The more you read a piece of content, the better it will get.

Final Thought

Whether it is for business and marketing purposes or any other reason, it is crucial to review and edit content before publishing to make it better and improved, especially when it comes to AI-generated content.

It may sound difficult to do at first, but if you can go through the checklist mentioned above, you can make it properly ready for publishing.
