Belkin has expanded its WeMo home automation range with the Insight Switch that can not only let you control electronic devices but also monitor and manage how much power they use in your home.
Any product connected to the WeMo Insight Switch, which is connected to a power point, can be turned on and off using the companion app on an Android or iOS device from anywhere.
User can easily see the products that are being used and, through the app, switch them on and off.
So the days of thinking you might have left the iron on are over. You can easily check through the app and do something about it.
But it doesn’t end there.
The Insight Switch, priced at $99.95, can also be used to manage your home’s power usage.
You can choose to receive notifications about the device’s usage and how much energy it is consuming.
With the WeMo Insight Switch it’s also possible to decided when your devices turn on or off. A lamp, for example, can be set to turn on at sunset every day or the gaming console cannot be used after school.
You can also see if the TV has been on too long and when the washing machine’s cycle has finished.
This management can now also extend to energy usage and to see exactly how much it costs to operate certain products in your home.
The Insight Switch can also work with other Belkin devices in the WeMo range.
Belkin has extended the availability of the Insight Switch into Bunnings Warehouse hardware stores for the first.
The Insight Switch is priced at $99.95 and can also be purchased from JB Hi-Fi and other leading retailers.
