Sennheiser has taken 80 years of audio innovation and poured them into its new Momentum 5 wireless, its most acclaimed and user-focused headphones to date.
The new Momentum offers breakthrough immersive sound and its best active noise cancellation ever.
“With Momentum 5 Wireless, we focused on refining the entire experience without straying from the formula that made its predecessor such a success,” says product manager Sreenath ‘Sri’ Unnikrishnan.
“These enhancements enrich the overall functionality while capturing the magic you feel every time you press play.”
Under the hood, the Momentum 5 wireless has a 42mm transducer from its predecessor, which is manufactured at the brand’s state-of-the-art facility in Ireland.
It draws its inspiration from the famed HD600 series headphones and is tuned for full-bodied sound and stunning bass.
The latest Momentum headphones also have Hi-Res Audio certification with Snapdragon Sound technology featuring a Bluetooth audio codec that supports aptX Lossless.
And users can access a new eight-band EQ through the SmartControl Plus companion app and access the Intelligent Sound Personalization engine to tune the sound to their liking.
It’s supercharged active noise cancellation is up to three times more effective at reducing ambient sound so users are immersed in what they are listening to.
Sennheiser’s best ANC yet is achieved with four microphones per side, with across-the-board improvements to help reduce in cabin plane noise and provide more natural voice quality on calls.
The Momentum 5 wireless platform has been optimised for improvement through firmware updates.
One update will allow users to unlock Dolby Atmos with head tracking to offer next-level immersive listening when listening to supported Atmos-encoded content.
The headphones ship with Bluetooth 5.4 and are ready for Bluetooth 6.0 via a future firmware release.
This combination of immersive audio, improved ANC, and stunning sound delivers a revelation of sound for newcomers and audiophiles alike.
“With MOMENTUM 5 Wireless, we’re proving that high-performance sound and environmental responsibility can — and must — exist in the same product,” says Lilika Beck, President, Sennheiser Consumer Audio.
“With our new, user-swappable battery, adaptable hardware, and shift to compact, plastic-free packaging, our customers will feel proud to choose a headphone meant to last.”
On the battery side the Momentum 5 Wireless has up to 57 hours of play time even with ANC engaged. It also has quick charging so you get up to full battery in no time.
There is also a 700 mAh battery that can be easily replaced by the user using a small Phillips head screwdriver.
This means the Momentum 5 wireless can stay on the job for years to come.
