Samsung has confirmed it will be holding a launch event on Jan 17 (early Jan 18 in Australia) for its new Galaxy S24 line-up of smartphones which promise revolutionary Galaxy AI.

Samsung says the latest Galaxy innovations are designed to transform the way we live, connect and create.

The Unpacked event will be held in San Jose, right in competitor Apple’s backyard, kicking off on January 17 at 10am (January 18 at 5am AEDT).

We can expect to see a new Samsung Galaxy S24 with a slightly larger 6.2-inch screen, the S24+ with a larger 6.7-inch display and the S24 Ultra with the same 6.8-inch as the previous model.

SmartPrix partnered with OnLeaks to produce renders of the devices based on leaked information about the design and specs.

Rumours have suggested the S24 Ultra will have a titanium frame with the S24 and S24+ made from aluminium and all three models sporting slightly flatter edges.

The flagship S24 Ultra will reportedly offer a new suite of colours including Titanium Black, Titanium Grey, Titanium Violet and Titanium Yellow.

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 line-up will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen processor with suggestions it will run Exynos chips in some regions.

On the camera side, we can expect the S24 Ultra to have a 12-megapixel ultrawide, 200-megapixel wide, 10-megapixel and 50-megapixel zoom lenses along with a 23-megapixel front-facing camera.

The S24 and S24+ will likely have a 50-megapixel main camera which can shoot 8K video as well as 30x zoom and telephoto lenses with 2x and 3x capabilities.

One of the biggest new features will be the onboard Galaxy AI which will offer capabilities like real-time translation with support for up to 12 languages, generative AI that will take photo and video editing to all-new levels and even more in-depth web searches.

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphones may also offer emergency satellite connectivity – like Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite – if customers get into trouble outside cellular coverage areas.

The new Samsung S24 range of smartphones will be available to pre-order from January 18 and go on sale in early February.

Stay tuned to Tech Guide for all the details about the Unpacked Samsung Galaxy S24 launch.
