Bose has eliminated the cable with its new Soundlink on-ear headphones but it certainly hasn’t had any impact on the company’s trademark high sound quality.
These Bluetooth headphones have a padded headband with ear cups about the same size as those found on the excellent QC3 noise cancelling headphones.
And while these Soundlink headphones don’t have active noise cancellation they still form a decent seal thanks to soft leather feel when they rest on your ears for a nice level of passive noise cancellation.
They are also very lightweight so there’s no issue with wearing them for extended periods to listen to your favourite tunes.
Onboard to provide that superb sound is the company’s proprietary TriPort technology that works hand in hand with the Active Equaliser so you’re getting the full range of sound and a delicious lick of bass.
Audio quality is exceptional and lets you appreciate every note with the finest detail and intricacy no matter what type of music you listen to.
There is also no cable to worry about between the headphones and your device so tangles are a thing of the past.
And with the mild noise cancellation going on it does allow the listener to just focus on what they’re listening to.
A full charge takes about 90 minutes and provides up to 15 hours of playback time.
But even if you’re caught short, a quick 15-minute charge gives users another two hours of use.
There’s also a cable in the box so if there is no power at all you can still listen to your music.
On the right ear cup is a battery indicator as well as controls to navigate your music or the volume.
You even get voice prompts that let you know your battery level, the connection status and even the name of the caller if your phone rings.
And the good news is the quality of your calls is as good as your music thanks to dual microphones that reduce background noise.
