And we were equally impressed by the brilliant light quality they offered.
It was like holding a floodlight in your hand and wearing one on your head.

LEDLENSER P7R TORCH – $259.95
The P7R fits neatly in your hand and can be used for camping, hiking, for jobs around the house or by tradesmen and other professional use cases.
It is 15.9cm long, with a head diameter of 3.5cm, and weighs in at 197g.
It has a solid aluminium outer casing and looks like it’s built for everyday use and designed to go anywhere with you, including on those camping trips and job sites.
The P7R has an IP68 rating for water resistance so you can be confident using it anywhere.
The P7R is built for every purpose and has three light settings to adjust the settings for the job at hand whether it’s checking the fuse box, lighting up the backyard or illuminating the campsite like a flood light.
We took the P7R out to our backyard and it lit it up bright enough to shoot a movie out there.
The torch has a brightness of up to 2,000 lumens and a range of 320m.
Also onboard is an advanced focus system that lets you move from the wider flood light to a more focused spotlight.
There are four light functions: Boost, Power, Mid power, Low power to suit whatever you are doing and whatever you need.
The torch has a mode select ring that easily turns to the appropriate setting you’re after and reveals the USB-C port to recharge the on-board 21,700 Li-ion battery.
So no need to purchase separate AA or AAA – they wouldn’t be able to generate enough power to match the brightness that the P7R provides.
With a fully charged battery you can expect up to 80 hours of use with the P7R.
The torch also comes with a bonus battery so you can double the run time.
LEDLENSER H8R HEADLAMP – $208.95
The Ledlenser H8R headlamp is a high quality piece of kit that’s ideal for the user who wants high illumination and the ability to work hands-free.
It has up to 600 lumens of brightness and truly lights up your surroundings.
It has three modes, including power, mid power, and low power which provides options whether you’re looking behind the TV to connect a cable or completing electrical wiring or water pipes under a house.
In our backyard it easily reached the back fence so we could see what was going on from the back door of our house.
One way we used the H8R headlamp was when we were setting up our astrophotography gear and needed to be able to see clearly in the dark to connect all our equipment.
The H8R has an adjustable head strap so you get a snug yet comfortable fit to complete your task, your hike or your run completely hands-free.
Like the Ledlenser torch, the H8R has a brilliant light quality with a focus function to adjust the beam to suit what you are doing.
The torch also has a stepped movement so it can be angled to suit your job.
On the front of the band is the actual torch while balancing things at the back is the battery compartment that contains the18,650 Li-ion USB-C rechargeable battery. The Ledlenser also packs in a spare battery to double your run time.
