Disney+ has launched a new ad-supported subscription plan to give Australian and New Zealand viewers a more affordable option for their streaming choices.
The new standard with ads plan will be priced at $9.99 a month and will sit alongside the existing standard and premium plans.
“We’re excited to offer Standard with Ads to our audiences to enjoy our world-class films, TV series and ESPN sports programming on Disney+ with greater choice and flexibility,” says Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Kylie Watson-Wheeler.
“The ad-supported plan also provides a premium platform for advertisers and partners to engage our highly attentive audiences alongside our iconic content.”
Disney’s standard with ads plan will allow up to 1080p full HD streaming with two concurrent streams.
Disney says customers will see ads during movies and TV series, which will be shown before commencement and during the stream like regular commercial TV broadcasts.
Age-appropriate advertising will be shown based on the profile for each member of the family.
Disney+ has launched a new Hulu marketing campaign that features Thomas Brodie-Sangster, star of hit Australian original series The Artful Dodger, which will showcase the value of the Disney+ entertainment platform.

Disney+ subscribers can access entertainment and sports from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Hulu, FX, 20th Century Fox, and ESPN. It includes movies and new original series as well as live sports.
