Samsung concluded its Unpacked launched event today with a teaser for a new slim and light version of the Galaxy S25 smartphone which it is calling the S25 Edge.
Following the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series – the Samsung S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra – a short video with glimpses of a much thinner smartphone was also shown.
Samsung set up a small viewing area behind ropes which showed the S25 Edge beside the S23 and S24 and the difference is thickness was remarkable.
The S25 Edge looked nearly half as thick as its stablemates.
Rumours have been circulating for months about a slim Samsung smartphone, originally labelled the S25 Slim online, and its positioning as a foil for Apple’s rumoured iPhone 17 Air which will reportedly have a thinner and lighter design.
While Samsung offered little detail with its 44s video, the whispers suggest the S25 Edge may match the alleged thickness of the iPhone 17 Air which may be just 5 or 6mm thick.
There were no official S25 Edge specs shown but the screen looked a similar size the S23 and S24 beside it at 6.2-inch.
Samsung has not announced when and where in the world the S25 Edge will go on sale and have also not specified whether it will launched in the first or second half of the year.
