When we first heard about the Roborock Saros Z70 with its robotic arm that can remove objects in its cleaning path at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas – we knew had to look at this for ourselves.
To be perfectly honestly, I didn’t think it was real the first time I saw it. And I told this to Roborock when I met them at their booth at CES.
Naturally, the booth was packed with people wanting to catch a glimpse of the Roborock Saros Z70 in action. They wanted to see if it was real as well.
It certainly was.
There were plenty of robot vacuum companies at CES but the Roborock’s robotic arm was the talk of the show.
We took a closer look at the Roborock booth and saw the Z70 inside a small walled off area where it was demonstrating picking up a sock with the arm that deployed from the body of the unit.
And on either side of the unit we saw six other Z70’s with their robotic arms deployed and all dancing in unison.
The Z70’s robotic was not only real – it was also smart.
Thanks to built-in AI, the Z70 is smart enough to know where to put the object it picked up.
For example, if it picks up a sock – it will take that sock to laundry. The arm can handle about 300g to pick up a sandal or a thong.
It might even be able to pick up Lego. Anyone who’s ever stepped on Lego and experienced the unique type of pain will certainly be interested in a device that can remove that pain from their life.
When you cast your mind back to the days when a sock or a cable would cripple a robot vacuum you can see how the category has advanced.
The Saros 10 also has a smart new feature that can make it squeeze into tighter spaces.
It has a retractable navigation system.
When it detects the low clearance spot, the Saros 10 draws the LiDAR sensor down into its chassis so it lowers its height to just 7.98cm.
That means it can squeeze under couches, chairs, beds and other furniture.
The Z70 is also lower than 8cm and get in and under into the tightest spaces.
But the features that actually do the cleaning have also been improved including the VibraRise 4.0 mopping module.
This vibrates more than 4000 times per minute to give your floors an even deeper scrub.
The are also tangle free rollers so hair won’t get caught up in it and reduce when mopping.
