Foxtel changing its channel numbers on October 13 – see the new channel list here

Foxtel will be changing its channel numbers on October 13 to improve the viewing experience and make find new and favourite content to watch even easier.

Foxtel says changing the channel order will improve the flow when channel surfing so more similar channels are grouped together.

For example, drama and comedy, lifestyle and reality, documentaries and true crime will sit together as will the +2 timeshift channels and the news and free-to-air channels.

There will be no channels lost – it will just be the channel numbers changing.

The TV Guide may appear to have less channels on it but that’s only because Foxtel has decided to remove the alternate standard definition/high definition channel numbers to avoid confusion.

Downloaded and recorded shows will also be unaffected but there will be an expiry date for downloaded content due to licensing.

Series link should still work but if it is no longer available or you’ve never set it up before follow these steps if you have an iQ3 or an iQ4.

  1. Press Home on your Foxtel remote.
  2. Scroll across to TV Guide.
  3. Find the program you want to Series Link.
  4. Scroll to Record and press Select.
  5. Press Select Entire Series.
