Belkin has launched the WeMo Baby – a device that turns your iPhone or iPad into a baby monitor that can work over wi-fi or 3G/4G to stream high quality audio.
The WeMo Baby is the latest in the line of handy Belkin WeMo products which allow you to control devices remotely with your smartphone.
It is a small device that can be set up easily in the baby’s nursery and connected to your home’s network.
Then all users need to do is download the free WeMo Baby app, powered by Evoz, to their iPhone or iPad to link to the Belkin device and monitor their child.
WeMo Baby works with up to six mobile devices so Mum and Dad and the whole family can listen in on the baby.
The app provides both visual and audio alerts and be accessed from anywhere the device has an internet connection whether it’s the next room or on the other side of the world.
The WeMo Baby App also has an optional upgrade service, for an added cost, to access advanced monitoring including cry notifications via text and email, cry history information and an analysis of the baby’s crying and sleep patterns.
The in-app upgrade from Evoz is available for $5.49 per month.
“WeMo Baby is the perfect solution for parents on the go. The device gives a clear digital sound without range limits, meaning you can check on your baby from places other monitors may not reach,” said Brendan Sparks, Head of Marketing and Product Management Belkin ANZ.
“The best part is that WeMo baby works with your iPhone, avoiding any additional devices and bulky receivers.”
Belkin’s WeMo Baby will be released on May 1 and will be priced at $99.95.
