  • VERDICT
Pros
  • Solid design
  • Secure and comfortable fit
  • Brilliant audio quality
  • Good battery life and charging case
Cons
  • Could be a touch louder

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones offers not only excellent audio quality and design but also brilliant noise cancellation and a range of handy features that make using these earphones an absolute pleasure.

There are 75 years of audio heritage packed into the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2  wire-free earphones which offer remarkable noise cancellation and impressive audio quality at the same time.

Quality is the keyword here – the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones are well crafted and, while slightly larger than other wire-free earphones, they are still quite comfortable.

They are available in black or white and also come with a charging case which has a fabric layer on the outside.

The shape of the earphones make them easy to lock in place so they are secure enough to wear on a run, a walk or in the gym.

They also have an IPX4 rating which means they can handle water, rain and sweat so you can use them anywhere and in any conditions.

That slightly larger size means you can fit larger 7mm drivers which provide better bass, mids and treble.

On the noise cancellation side, the MW2 earphones can shut you off from the outside world.

And it is active noise cancellation so its calculating the level of ambient sound and working out the reverse sound wave to eliminate it.

It’s one of the best active noise cancellations levels we’ve heard.

But on top of that you’ve also got passive noise cancellation thanks to the silicone tips that create a seal in your ear. There are multiple silicon tips included so you can find the perfect size.

There’s a transparent hearing mode which allows you to turn off noise cancelation and listen to what’s going on around you.

On the audio side, the Sennheiser MW2 are a home run.

It ticks all the boxes for audio lovers – solid bass that’s not too over the top and also fantastic clarity at all levels no matter what type of music you’re listening too.

We would have liked them to be louder but the excellent noise cancelation gets everything out of your way to focus on what you’re listening to.

You can really hear Sennheiser’s signature audio quality and scale that make the earphones sounds as grand as larger headphones.

The sound can be tweaked through the Sennheiser Smart Control companion app if you prefer a touch more bass than treble or vice versa.

This equaliser doesn’t drastically change the sound but can give you a little leeway but don’t expect to have a totally different sound stage.

Naturally audio quality is paramount and Sennheiser really nails it but it’s the added features that will make you really appreciate the product even more.

Another feature we liked was the ability to customise the controls from the touchpads built into each earphones.

These can be adjusted through the Sennheiser Smart Control app.

Users simple tap on the function they’d like to change and check the options.

For example, you might want a double tap on the left earbud to activate transparent hearing.

The touchpads are perfectly responsive when pausing, playing and navigating your music.

And the earphones are also smart enough to pause your music or podcast or audio book when you take out one of the earphones.

When you put that earphone back in, it picks up exactly where it left off.

Users can also access their voice assistant through the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 – it’s either Siri if you’re using an iPhone or Google Assistant so you can talk and also hear the responses really clearly without even touching your smartphone.

Battery-wise the Sennheiser TW2 earphones run for up to about seven hours on a single charge.

But with the charging case, which is slightly larger than Apple’s AirPods and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds+ cases, can take that up to 28 hours of listening time.

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones are available now in black or white and are priced at $499.95.

These are more expensive than the Apple AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds+ earphones and they do offer superior noise cancellation and impressive audio quality along with a larger charging case with more battery capacity.

But what you’re also paying for is not just the product itself, which is superb, but 75 years of audio development and technology that makes these a standout.

VERDICT

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 earphones offers not only excellent audio quality and design but also brilliant noise cancellation and a range of handy features that make using these earphones an absolute pleasure.
