Now you can add broadband and home phone to your Foxtel subscription

Foxtel has today launched its new broadband and home phone bundles which can now be included with their pay TV subscription for greater value and simplicity.

Also unveiled today was the Foxtel Hub (manufactured by Netgear) – the wi-fi modem that powers the broadband service in your home.

Existing Foxtel customers can add broadband and home phone services to their account.

Phone and broadband services which will be supplied through the Telstra network with service and support all provided by Foxtel.

Starting at an extra $65 a month on a 12 or 24-month plan on top of your current pay TV subscription, customers will receive unlimited standard local and national calls and 50GB of data.

The home phone component does not include calls to mobiles which will attract additional charges.

There are also 100GB, 200GB and 500GB Foxtel Broadband data packages and the good news for subscribers is that data is unmetered when using the broadband features of Foxtel TV and other services and apps like Foxtel Go, Foxtel Play and the Presto streaming video on demand (SVOD) service.

The Foxtel Hub is designed for internet and video streaming to multiple devices with wider in-home wi-fi coverage and with easy connection to the internet-enabled iQ and iQHD.

Foxtel Hub will also be able to connect wirelessly to Foxtel’s next generation iQ3 set top box which will be released in the coming weeks.

Foxtel Broadband and Home Phone bundles are available on 12 and 24-month contracts for new and existing customers.

If you already have an existing Foxtel subscription you can get unlimited standard local and national calls and add 50GB of data for and extra $65 a month, 100GB for $70, 200GB ($80) and 500GB ($100).

For those new to Foxtel, they can get the Foxtel TV Entertainment Pack which features 43 news, entertainment, factual and lifestyle channels, the home phone pack plus 50GB for $90 a month on a 12 or 24 month contract.

To increase data to 100GB will take the monthly cost to $95. For 200GB that goes up to $105 and for 500GB it will be $125 a month.

These are minimum costs per month as customers can add channel packages to the TV component and they may attract excess call charges to mobiles and certain premium numbers.

Users will receive data usage alerts when they reach 50 per cent, 85 per cent and 100 per cent of their monthly data limit.

If a customer exceeds their data allowance their connection is throttled back to 256kbps until the next billing cycle.
