Is your backpack weighing you down? Under Armour has released an ergonomically engineered bag called the No Weigh Backpack that’s designed to ease the load.
Well, not ease the load but redistribute it to reduce shoulder and back pain.
The No Weigh Backpack has an expandable 28-35L capacity and incorporates UA Suspension – a multi-directional strap that can adapt to you while you’re on the move and redirect the weight to save your shoulder and back.
The back straps and the back panels have a similar pattern and texture to move with your body while other stitched in loops come in to play to act like a bit of a spring.
There’s also a floating sternum strap that can be easily adjusted to sit comfortably across your body and offer more stability.
We tried the bag with our 15-inch MacBook Air inside along with books and cameras and the straps didn’t appear to dig as much into our shoulders and collarbone.
The straps sit at an angle across the top of your shoulders and at the very least the cushioning does make it seem lighter and more comfortable.
The material on the straps and rear panel is breathable and is moisture wicking so your sweat will disappear.
The exterior of the bag has also been given a water repellent treatment.
Inside are generously sized compartments which are well ventilated so it can handle different types of cargo like your sweaty gym gear and a clean change of clothes alongside your laptop, cables and snacks.
The media compartment is padded and fit up to a 16-inch MacBook Pro or other similarly sized laptops and there are additional organization pockets.
The front pocket can also be expanded when you need to carry even more gear
There are three front zip pockets for those things you want to access quickly plus two side water bottle pockets.
The Under Armour No Weigh Backpack is available in black or white and is priced at $190.
