Garmin, a leader in GPS and wireless sports devices, has unveiled an all-new vivosmart HR activity tracker that can monitor your heart rate and your daily activities and deliver notifications from your smartphone.
The Garmin vivosmart HR is a comprehensive update of the previous model and has a larger always-on display that can be read even in the brightest sunlight.
It has also added the Elevate wrist heart rate technology sensor to track your heart rate 24/7 whether you’re working out, at rest or asleep.
The device also measures steps, distance travelled and calories and can even tell how many flights of stairs you’ve climbed.
The display also shows the time and your current progress for the day.
And when paired with a smartphone – it will work with an iPhone or Android device – you also receive a vibration alert for texts, calls, emails, calendar and social media alerts as well.
It even allows you to control the music you’re listening to on your phone.
As a fitness product, the vivosmart HR can also measure your activity intensity and monitor your progress as you strive to achieve fitness goals.
It will even remind users if they’ve been sitting still for too long.
Garmin’s vivosmart HR also link to the excellent Connect app for iPhone and Android users to see an overview of your progress on a dashboard.
The vivosmart HR will be available in three colours – black, imperial purple and midnight blue – and will go on sale in mid-November for $229.
