LG is a brand we know for entertainment products, but it has “branched out” with a new appliance concept for home gardening so you can grow your own vegetables, herbs and flowers in your home all year round.

The new product is called LG tiiun (tiiun means “to sprout” in Korean) and it will be officially unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

This new appliance allows even a novice gardener to cultivate vegetables and herbs and even grow flowers in the comfort of their own home.

This self-contained unit looks like a mini refrigerator and includes two shelves that can hold up to six all-in-one seed packages and three different kinds of seed kits.

Each seed package contains 10 holes to allow the seeds to germinate.

It also makes it possible to grow a variety of greens at the same time in 4 to 8 weeks.

The LG tiiun is easy to use and offers the benefits of an outdoor garden but without the nuisances of pests and bad weather.

Onboard is a flexible weather control system they can precisely adjust the internal temperature and create the perfect conditions for organic growth.

It can also regulate temperature and light to imitate the natural cycle of the day as well as delivering water eight times every 24 hours through its Auto Ebb and Watering system.

This can circulate the perfect amount of moisture to grow the seeds into greens and flowers.

The internal structure of the LG tiiun has been created to improve photosynthesis efficiency and amplify the effects of the internal LED light source to speed up the growth process.

Users can also peek in on their plants progress through the airtight transparent door.

Growth can also be monitored through the LG ThinQ mobile app so you can see the germination process from anywhere and even check or change settings and receive notifications when the water tanks need a refill.

The LG tiiun was awarded the CES 2022 Innovation Award for its design and technology and its benefit to consumers.
“LG tiiun is a practical and convenient solution for busy consumers who want to enjoy a green space and more sustainable living at home,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company.

“A stylish addition to one’s home or apartment, our smart gardening system makes growing herbs, leafy greens and flowers fun and simple, even for those of us with zero gardening experience.”
