Australian consumer electronics company Laser says it next generation of ChargeCore powerbanks with next-generation semi-solid-state battery technology are the safest you can buy today.
The new Laser ChargeCore battery range include models with three capacities and deliver safety and stability thanks to the onboard semi-solid-state technology.
They are available in 10,000mAh, 20,000mAh, and 27,000mAh capacities with progressively more powerful 20W and 35W USB-C PD (Power Delivery) fast charging options.
Semi-solid-state battery technology is an evolution in battery chemistry and the biggest advantage is improved thermal stability while still offering stronger and faster charging performance.
The advancements in the battery technology can now be implemented in consumer products, including power banks that store and deliver more power in a compact design while remaining stable even under demanding conditions.
The batteries have a gel-like core, which helps reduce overheating and fire risk.
Its enhanced safety reduces heat, which means the battery has a longer life and can last through more charges and will not catch fire.
Laser put the new ChargeCore semi-solid state batteries through rigorous testing and even when the battery was pierced, hammered, and sliced, it still worked and didn’t catch fire.
Laser is celebrating its 40th anniversary 2027 and has made a name for itself as delivering affordable yet high-quality tech to Australian customers.
Has sold power banks to Australians for the last 15 years and it prides itself as being on the cutting edge of battery technology.
Laser launched Australia’s first range of LiFePO4 battery technology in 2025 and is now among the first to move to semi-solid-state technology with this latest range.
“We’ve been closely following semi solid state battery development for some time, since first visiting an EV factory several years ago, and advancements since that time mean that it can now move into smaller, more compact options,” says Chris Lau, Laser Managing Director.
“Simply put, I believe that semi-solid state chemistry makes this the safest powerbank technology available in Australia today.
“We are focused on safety and peace of mind, and we know that it is a huge concern for Australian consumers these days when buying powerbanks,”
“I’ve personally had the opportunity to see first-hand the testing that goes into the manufacturing of these semi solid state powerbanks, including the stress testing placed on the battery technology.
“It gives you an appreciation for just how much engineering, testing and development sits behind something consumers simply put in their bag and use every day.”
The Laser ChargeCore semi-solid state batteries include easy-to-read digital displays which the battery’s remaining capacity.
And they also have built-in protection against overcharging, overcurrent, short circuits and overheating.
Each battery has three ports: two USB-A and one USB-C while the 27,000mAh battery has two USB-Cs and one USB-A – so you can charge three devices at the same time.
Each battery also comes with a 60W-rated cable and a built-in heat sensor.
The batteries will be able to charge an iPhone 17 to 50% in about 30 minutes.
The batteries will be able to charge smartphones, tablets, portable gaming devices, earphones, cameras, drones and much more.
The ChargeCore 27,000mAh semi-solid-state power bank has a higher capacity output and can charge laptops, including the MacBook Air, Chromebooks and Surface devices.
The new series is available in Black, Galactica, Grey, and Dark Cherry.
