Panasonic has officially unveiled Australia’s first 4K Ultra High Definition Blu-ray player which can play native razor sharp 4K content for the highest quality home viewing experience on offer.

The Panasonic DMP-UB900GNK has a sleek design with a glass cut finish and mirrored front panel and will deliver 4K movies in the same quality they were presented in cinemas and just as the filmmakers intended for them to be seen.

The new DMP-UB900GNK, which won’t go on sale in Australian until September, comes with the Ultra HD Premium certification and will also unlock the next generation of 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc content and also support HDR (high dynamic range).

Panasonic’s technologies that will come into play under the hood will include 4K high- precision chroma processing and high gradation processing which have been refined by Panasonic’s Hollywood Laboratory Blu-ray research and development facility.

The result is more natural, lifelike images with more warm and vivid colour.

The Panasonic 4K Ultra HD player can achieve high frame rates up to 60fps (frames per second) with the BT.2020 wide colour gamut to offer a more cinematic experience.

The DMP-UB900GNK is backwards compatible so it can play Blu-ray Discs and DVDs as well.

Pricing has yet to be decided and will be announced closer to the September release date.
