WhatsApp has added new security features to keep users of the popular communication platform safe against potential scams and suspicious messages. The platform already uses machine learning to detect and ban fraudulent accounts on a large scale but these new features have been added to firm up that protection. NBN Co and Amazon have announced a partnership to provide high speed broadband to Australian customers in rural and remote areas from 2026 via the Project Kuiper network of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites. Project Kuiper is the broadband satellite arm of the Amazon business which is already providing high speed coverage to customers around the world. The Australian Government has backflipped on YouTube’s exemption from the social media ban for under 16s and will now include the video-sharing platform in the new legislation that will take effect from December This means children and younger teenagers aged under 16 will not be allowed to log into the video site before the end of the year.
