Wouldn’t it be good if we could take what’s on our laptops, smartphones and tablets and put it on our televisions? With the new Moshi USB-C to HDMI adapter now you can.
The small adaptor has a USB-C port and HDMI port and can connect to any USB-C device.
It can even support 4K video at 60hz and HDR and also charge the smartphone, tablet or laptop thanks to USB Power Delivery pass through.
So if you have, for example, an iPad Pro and want to watch Netflix or Disney+ on your TV you can simply connect the adaptor to the iPad Pro, then connect a HDMI cable to the adaptor and the other end to your TV’s HDMI port.
When connect you’ll see the iPad Pro display mirrored on your TV.
We tested this with our 12.9-inch iPad Pro and, with the Moshi USB-C to HDMI adapter, we connected to a Samsung 4K TV and within a second we could see the screen from the iPad replicated on the television screen.
For our review we were watching a program on Apple TV – Defending Jacob – which is available in 4K and HDR (high dynamic range).
Despite the fact that our iPad Pro isn’t 4K, we were still able to watch the program in 4K HDR on the Samsung TV as it was streamed directly from Apple TV and through the adaptor to the TV.
The Moshi USB-C to HDMI adapter can connect laptops and tablets and some smartphones including Samsung and Huawei which have DeX and PC Mode respectively
Users can also link Windows laptops and Surface tablets through their USB-C connections to display their screens on a larger scale.
