iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus now available to preorder

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are now available for pre-order with Australia the first country in the world to buy new devices on September 19 at 8am.

Starting from 5.01pm today, customers keen to get their hands on the new iPhones from launch can register their interest at the Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile websites.

Pre-orders are also being taken at the Apple website.

Stock is limited so customers are advised to act quickly.


There will be stock available for outright purchase from 8am on launch day on Friday, September 19.

But expect very long lines at all Apple Stores which will hold the bulk of stock.

Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane will be the first major cities in the world where the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will go on sale.

New Zealand, usually in the first wave of countries to receive the iPhone, will have to wait until September 26.

Customers can pre-order from Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile and from the Apple website.

The iPhone 6 pricing will be:

$869 (16GB)

$999 (64GB)

$1,129 (128GB)

The iPhone 6 Plus will be priced at:

$999 (16GB)

$1,129 (64GB)

$1,249 (128GB)
