Microsoft has released the Surface Laptop Ultra – the most powerful product the company has ever created – which has been engineered for next-level performance and AI.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra is powered by the new NVIDIA RTX Spark Superchip which includes NVIDIA AI, Blackwell RTX graphics, up to 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU and up to 128GB of unified memory. It can also be configured with up to 2TB of storage.
It has a 15-inch MiniLED Ultra 120Hz touchscreen display with up to 2000 nits of peak HDR brightness.
The display offers Dolby Vision IQ and 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut for incredible colour accuracy.
And it is all housed in an aluminium chassis that is just 18mm thick and weighs 2kg.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra is already drawing comparisons with Apple’s MacBook Pro.
Microsoft says when compared to a MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro chip, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra offers 6.2x faster video generation and 4.3x faster image creation.
The Surface Laptop Ultra also has the largest thermal system Microsoft has ever included on a laptop it can cope with demanding workloads and still maintain peak performance.
The Surface Laptop Ultra user is designed for someone who will be video editing, CAD and 3D modelling and using professional technical applications.
And it’s also an impressive gaming computer with a screen that makes your games look amazing and a processor to make them responsive and immersive.
Naturally the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra is a Copilot+ PC with powerful AI capabilities.
It also includes CUDA support – part of the NVIDIA platform for accelerated computing – so it can handle demanding local AI workflows.
On the connectivity side the Surface Laptop Ultra has three USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, headphone jack and an SD card reader.
But it is also introducing a new port called Magnetic Connect – the world’s first magnetic USB-C charging port with the convenience of magnetic charging and a standard connection.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra is available to pre-order and starts at $4,399.
Is available in two colours – Nightfall and Platinum.
It goes on sale in the coming weeks.
