Who said there is no technology in running shoes? Certainly not Mizuno – it has just released the Neo Vista 3 running shoes which incorporates wave plate technology to help improve a runner’s efficiency.
Mizuno has combined advanced materials, an all-new plate system and biomechanical design for the Neo Vista 3 performance running shoes.
The central feature of the shoe is Mizuno Enerzy – a midsole system that puts together a nitrogen-infused TPU top layer with an EVA base, which balances cushioning and energy returns.
And when it works alongside the full-length 3D wave plate, it not only stabilises the midsole through transition but creates a smoother feel all the way from touchdown to toe-off.
Put in plain terms it means the shoes have both a responsiveness and a bounce to put energy back into your stride.
But the technology extends beyond the midsole with Smooth Speed Assist – this is Mizuno’s iconic performance geometry and shape of the shoe and sole which helps provide added momentum.
They also have a knitted upper that offers more security and stability.
The shoe fits more like a sock than a regular running shoe. There is no tongue – your foot is completely encapsulated.
Tech Guide received a pair of the Mizuno Neo Vista 3 and we can sum up all the technology and features by saying it’s like having two bouncy pillows on your feet.
The soles are quite thick so they are going to make you look taller (a bonus feature for some users) but you can also feel the bounce even when you’re walking.
This bounce increases when you’re running – more force down means more force coming off the ground – and this helps you get into your next stride with less effort on your part.
We mainly used them walking and it did make it easier to stride out.
So if you’re a serious runner you can expect this to add up over a long distance and help either maintain the same pace with less effort or take it up a notch with your regular effort or adding even more.
