Ring has unveiled the Ring Intercom – a product designed for apartment dwellers that lets them see and talk to visitors and allow them entry from anywhere.
Ring Intercom is designed for DIY installation so users can keep an eye on delivered packages and let in trusted visitors, family, cleaners, dog walkers at the press of a button.
Whether you’re at home, at work or travelling users can see a live view and have a two way conversation through the Ring App or Echo Show.
Both audio and video versions can be installed in less than 45 minutes and does need any structural changes so it’s ideal for renters.
It’s also possible to have preset messages to help manage deliveries or visitors when customers can’t answer.
Recent research shows three quarters of apartment residents have missed one or more packages in their last 10 deliveries.
More than half have stayed at home waiting for deliveries to receive a parcel and 87 per cent had someone else collect at least one of 10 deliveries.
A feature called Visitor Snapshot automatically records images of every time the was pressed and it keeps a180-day video history so you have a record of all visitors.
The in-app calls and Quick Replies come standard with Ring Intercom but users can unlock more features with Ring Protect features like Video History, Visitor Snapshot and Voicemail.
