Leading professional audio brand Jabra has taken the meeting to another level with its new PanaCast 40 VBS – the only small room Android-bar that can capture and present the entire room with a 180-degree field of view.
The unit itself is about 50cm wide and has two cameras that combine to offer the 180-degree view but without the annoying fisheye effect.
The product builds on the success of the PanaCast 50 VBS and inherits the same powerful performance but for more compact spaces.
With more employees now coming back to the office the need for an efficient small room meeting solution is now more important than ever before.
The PanaCast 40 VBS is that solution and provides professional video conferencing capabilities that are to set up and easy to use.
It is built on the MDEP (Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform) which runs on Android, but it can easily tap into an organisation’s Microsoft Teams account.
It can turn small meeting and huddle rooms into highly productive workspaces.
The PanaCast 40 VBS has impressive 4K resolution and cam present the room to outside callers in the flat 180-degree view and then frame the individual people in their own box and keep them centred even if they move around and stand up.
The six beamforming microphones under the hood can recognise who is speaking and zoom on that person or, if two people are having a conversation, both speakers will be included in the shot.

Jabra says less than three per cent of huddle rooms globally are video enabled which leaves a lot of valuable meeting spaces underutilised.
On top of the video quality the PanaCast 40 VBS offers excellent audio quality as well through a single high-quality speaker.
Intelligent audio algorithms also get to work to enhance audio quality and clearly picks up voices, so everyone is easily heard and understood.
Also included are option al accessories like a touchscreen controller that lets you start a meeting and invite people to join.
“The modern workplace is undergoing a transformation, with organizations reimagining how their spaces can drive productivity and collaboration,” says Holger Reisinger, SVP Enterprise Video Business Unit at Jabra.
“Small rooms, phone booths and huddle spaces are a cornerstone of this evolution, yet they’ve often been overlooked by traditional video solutions.
“With the PanaCast 40 VBS, we’re addressing this gap by delivering a flexible, intuitive, and future-proof Android solution that empowers teams to collaborate seamlessly, regardless of room size or platform preference.”
The Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS is available now and is priced at $1,499.
