Modern technology gives us many things.

LDrivo is the Uber for learner drivers to connect with driving instructors

You’ve heard of Uber – which connects drivers to passengers. What about an app that can connect learner drivers with driving instructors? That’s exactly what two Australians have created with LDrivo.

The app is designed to help learners find the right driving instructor so they can be taught by a professional and become safe, responsible drivers.

Sadly, 25 per cent of all vehicle fatalities in Australia are among drivers aged 17-25 despite them making up just 13.5 per cent of the driving population.

Founded by surfing buddies Nathan Dawes and Dane Wasterweller, LDrivo is a result of the vision to make driving safer and more accessible.

It also solves the problem of learners finding and booking suitable and available instructors in their area.

So not only can it create new business for driving instructors it could also play a part in hopefully helping reduce road fatalities.

The LDrivo app is available for iPhone and Android users and here’s how it works.

  1. Find the car you would be comfortable driving.
  2. Take a look at the instructors. And just like Uber, you can read their ratings and reviews.
  3. You can sort the results in a number of ways including by price, whether it’s a manual or automatic vehicle and if the instructors are male or female.
  4. Once you’ve made your selection and book your time, the instructor will pick you up from your desired location and drop you off again when the lesson is over.

It’s possible to register either as a learner or as a driving instructor.

With the LDrivo app, the learner can track every lesson using built-in GPS as well as duration, distance travelled and average speed.

As a driving instructor, LDrivo would allow work to come to you and at the end of each lesson the payment is handled with a credit card registered by the learner.

Instructors can also choose to upgrade to a pro account so they can be more prominent within the app and attract more bookings.

Having a pro account will help instructors appear at the top of searches, expand their radius from 30km t0 50km when learners are searching in the app, have five images in their account instead of one and access exclusive deals on insurance and purchasing a new vehicle.

LDrivo has only just launched and is free to download from the App Store and Google Play Store.
It is operating in a beta in 40 cities around Australia.

LDrivo is also set to kick off a private beta in New Zealand and the United States.
