How a VPN can help improve your gaming experience

Gaming is one of the biggest industries in the world. One of the biggest innovations in the past couple of decades has been the ability to play games online through an internet connection. However, it has also bought with it many rules and regulations which have hampered the gaming experience to a certain extent.

There is a way around these regulations, and we will tell you How a VPN can help improve your gaming experience. There are many ways through which a VPN can improve your experience, including game torrents and routing (ping). Let’s take a look at them.

Why You need a VPN for Torrenting

Although torrents are themselves considered to be legal, people share many files through P2P networks are often copyrighted, giving governments all the incentive to punish torrent users. For that reason, it is best to have a VPN whenever you are using game torrents (or any other kind of torrents for that matter).

Another important thing to note is that many ISPs nowadays throttle your internet connection whenever you connect to a P2P network. Since a lot of data is downloaded at high speeds through the aforementioned networks, ISPs try to reduce the load on their networks by purposefully slowing down your internet when using torrents.

You can use a VPN to ensure that you get the maximum possible speed whenever downloading games. It is also there to ensure that no one can track any of your activity whenever you are using torrents. With the addition of dedicated P2P servers to VPNs, they are now the perfect way to download anything from torrents.

Better Ping Through Routing

Sometimes you are playing online multiplayer, you may notice that your ping (latency) is too high and you are experiencing lag as a result. Ping is often determined by how far away the server is from you, and what routes you are using to connect to it. As such, you should not be experiencing high ping when connecting to servers in your own country, but you may experience lag when on foreign servers.

Sometimes, there is nothing you can do since the server is simply located too far away from you to have a decent ping. However, many times the routes used by your ISP are not optimal and they may cause you to have way more lag than what you should actually be experiencing.

A perfect example of this is that if you want to connect to an Indian server and you live in the United Kingdom, a connecting routed through Dubai will have much lower ping than one routed through the US. A VPN can solve this issue by first connecting you to a VPN with lower ping than the game server and then establishing a connection from the VPN to the server.

Best VPN for Gaming

There are a lot of VPNs for gaming that you can use. Essentially, the main thing that you are looking for in a VPN when it comes to gaming is a lot of server locations so that you are able to connect to the server of your choice. Apart from that, connection stability is also important, and speed is not as important since most games only require a few kb/s to transfer their data to and from the server.

ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is the most popular VPN in the world. It is perfect for games because of the fact that it has more than 2000 different servers set up in over 145 locations across the world. This means that you will not have trouble connecting to most of the servers and ensuring that you have a decent ping.

ExpressVPN is no slouch when it comes to speed either, ensuring that you can download game torrents with ease. Overall, ExpressVPN is considered to be one of the best VPNs right now, and it is easy to see why.

CyberGhost

CyberGhost. is another VPN that is great for gaming. They offer you a lot of customization options allowing you to set up your VPN the way you want to. As for the servers, they have over 3000 servers in more than 60 countries.

Although you are not going to have as many locations as you can have with ExpressVPN, Majority of game servers around the world are hosted in one of the major data centers or the other. CyberGhost offers servers in all of those locations such as Germany, Netherlands, and West Coast US. Cyberghost may not be for the hardcore underground gamer, but it will do the job for most people.

Online gaming has taken over the world, and you should be using a VPN to battle all the people who want to take the fun out of gaming. Whether you are torrenting or playing online, you cannot go wrong with a VPN.
