Boost Mobile is providing a big screen experience without the big price tag with its latest offering – a 5-inch Alcatel OneTouch smartphone for less than $100.
Boost Mobile View 5.0 is the first device with a 5-inch display offered at this price point in Australia.
The $99 Alcatel OneTouch smartphone includes a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.3Ghz quad core processor along with 4GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot to expand the memory even further.
Running Android’s Jelly Bean operating system, the Alcatel OneTouch device is 9.9mm thick and weighs 160g with a screen resolution of 854 x 480.
The competitively priced device, which runs on Telstra’s 3G network with Boost’s $40 UNLTD monthly pre-paid plan, comes in black or white and allows users to enjoy their content on the go on a larger display.
“Australians love smartphones, usage figures are amongst the highest in the world per capita and we spend around 2 hours on them each day,” says Ian Blackhall, chief marketing officer of Boost Mobile.
“However, consumers are fed up of being charged significantly more to purchase them than in other countries. We want to offer people a top spec phone, perfect for social media sharing, at an affordable price.”
Boost’s pre-paid offering suits users who want to control their spend while enjoying a generous data allowance.
Now paired with a device like the 5-inch Alcatel OneTouch it is certainly an offering that punches well above its weight.
