Garmin has launched the Approach X40 that’s been designed especially for golfers that will not only help them on the course but also keep track of all of their daily activities as well.
The golf band is slim and lightweight, much smaller than other golf watches, and can be worn 24/7.
It has a 1-inch monochrome screen that’s easy to read even in bright sunlight.
The versatile X40 has data for more than 40,000 international courses onboard with no additional fees or subscriptions and provides precise distances to the front, middle and back of the green along with hazards, layups, doglegs, bunkers and water.
Also onboard is Green View which displays the shape of the green on each hole with players able to manually adjust the pin placement for even more accurate yardage.
The device can also be used as a digital scorecard and keep track of individual stats like fairways hit, greens in regulation and putts per round.
With the data gathered by the X40, golfers can analyse their rounds with Garmin Connect.
The X40 is also compatible with the Garmin TruSwing club sensor which can provide information about your swing on the device and within the Garmin Connect app or online portal.
Off the course, the X40 provides comprehensive activity tracking including daily steps, calories burned, distance, hours of sleep and reminders to stay active with alerts throughout the day.
Garmin’s X40 also has a heart rate monitor onboard so it can keep track of your heart rate 24/7 and while exercising without the need for a chest strap.
The device can also pair with your smartphone and provide notifications for incoming calls, texts, emails, calendar reminders and other social media alerts with a gentle vibration.
It is also water resistant so it can handle a rainy round on the course and even your toughest workout.
In normal mode the X40 battery can last for up to five days and for up to 10 hours in GPS mode on the golf course.
The Garmin X40 is priced at $389 and is available now in four colours – black, white, frost blue and limelight blue.
