Tineco Carpet One Cruiser review – it’s easy to give your carpets a deep clean

VERDICT
  • RATING
Pros
  • Easy to use
  • Provides a thorough and easy clean
  • Excellent drying so you don't have damp carpets
  • Great self cleaning
Cons
  • Instructions on water tank could have been clearer
  • Has a long power cord that can get in the way

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser is a must have product for anyone who insists on having clean carpets including families with young kids and households with pets.

Tineco has made floor cleaning much easier and now they can also do the same for your carpets with the new Carpet One Cruiser which makes deep cleaning your carpet as easy as vacuuming.

Tech Guide decided to give it a run and we had the perfect opportunity to put it through its paces in our office.

The room had been cleared out and repainted ahead of a renovation with custom made cabinetry – a new desk and wardrobe.

Our carpet was still in good condition but there were some high traffic areas that needed a clean and a revival.

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser has a solid 130W of suction power so it can offer a deep clean of the carpet.

Set up is quite simple with the two in one water tank although it could have been explained a little more clearly where the clean water goes in.

We had originally put the clean water where the dirty water ends up. But we soon worked it out.

The clean water, along with supplied detergent, goes in through a smaller side pipe and fills the tank below the dirty water tank closest to the carpet.

That little error did make us appreciate just how clever the two in one tank is.

The unit also comes with some pre-treat formula so you can spray the carpet for a more thorough clean.

The Carpet One Cruiser can be operated effortlessly – it has bi-directional assist which means it can move forward and backwards with very little effort so anyone can use it.

It is a decent sized unit but rest assured it is a breeze to steer around your home thanks to that assistance. Users can choose from three levels of assistance.

We got to work in our office and focused on two areas the high traffic area near the door and the area where my desk used to where I had a chair mat.

In both spots the carpet pile was pretty flat.

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser of course uses water and detergent to clean the carpet along with a brush and suction system.

From the front of the cleaner head you can see the water being circulated and sucked back up out of the carpet.

You could see right away the difference in these areas – the carpet looked revitalised and clean.

And thanks to the strong suction and the additional Superdry feature which used 75-degree heated air, the carpet had only the slightest dampness.

This dried in a matter of minutes when we were done.

We could tell how much cleaning had been done on our office carpet – we emptied the dirty water tank in our toilet and it was black.

There’s also a hose included for spot carpet cleaning which we used to clean the carpet on our staircase and it delivered the same result – healthier looking carpet that was the cleanest it had been in years.

And when you’ve finished the Tineco Carpet One Cruiser thoroughly cleans itself – it flushes the brush, suction inlet and roller cover and finishes off with a five-minute 55-degree flash drying cycle to prevent odours.

The entrance to our office – before
The entrance to our office – after

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser has a long power cord so there’s no worry about a battery running low. But you do have to hold the cord in your hands while operating the unit to prevent running over it.

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser is useful not only for the periodical carpet clean but also for addressing any types of mess to get your carpet back to its clean state like nothing ever happened.

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser is available now and is priced at $999 from Harvey Norman.

VERDICT

The Tineco Carpet One Cruiser is a must have product for anyone who insists on having clean carpets including families with young kids and households with pets.
